As we start a brand new year and celebrate new beginnings, one Killeen family mourns the loss of their beloved family member due to a horrible string of events that occurred one year ago today.

What Happened To Patrick Warren Sr?

At around 5:40 PM on January 10, 2021, 5-year KPD veteran Officer Reynaldo Contreras was dispatched to the 1600 block of Carrollton Avenue in Killeen, the home of 52-year-old Patrick Warren Sr.

Reportedly, a mental health deputy was requested at the residence but was unavailable, so a Killeen police officer was dispatched because the call was within city limits.

The video (shown below) shows Contreras was invited to enter the home, but was not comfortable doing so and walked back outside, saying, "I'm gonna walk back out. I don't work like this."

The body cam recorded Contreras standing outside the home awaiting assistance while updating other officers. Two minutes later, as you'll see, the video shows Mr. Warren coming outside approaching Contreras, who then draws an electrical weapon and demands that Mr. Warren show his hands and lie on the ground.

Seconds later, Officer Contreras fires the weapon and continues giving commands.

Mr. Warren, unarmed, stands up and approaches Contreras once again. Contreras then puts the electrical weapon aside and draws his gun, warning that he will shoot Warren.

Seconds later, Contreras fires three shots. Moments later, a second officer arrives at the scene.

After being transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Mr. Warren passed away as a result of his wounds.

The Video Of The Incident

Although there are portions of the video blurred by Killeen Police, some people may deem the following disturbing. Viewer discretion is very much advised.

According to the Killeen Daily Herald, the family is asking to share a virtual balloon release in honor of Mr. Warren at 5:40 PM today.

If you're wondering where the case stands now, a Bell County grand jury declined to indict Officer Contreras on any charges. Mr. Warren's family is considering a civil rights lawsuit, but tell the Herald the suit is in the early stages.

4 Killeen Barbers You Should Know

It's hard being fly, but with the help of these barbers you can make it look easy!

Every barber isn't skilled enough to grow your hair, bless you with hair implants, and or help your beard flourish, but these four barbers listed below is the truth.

If you're new in Killeen or ready to switch it up, then consider these barbers as people you need to know.

They specialize in tappers, facials, coloring, dreads, bald heads, and so much more.

I'm so excited about this list because they hold it down for the CTX, and there's a lady among the four. (You know I'm all about boss women).

Get connected and thank me later.
