II'l start this off by simply giving you my belief on this topic:

A man should never have the power to tell a woman what to do with her body.

If a woman gets pregnant and decides she isn't fit to give birth to a child or doesn't want to bring the child into the world for whatever reason, it should stop there.

She should have the right to make whatever decision she wants, without any law interfering with that decision.

Got it?

What's Going On?

Last week, State Representative Bryan Slaton introduced a bill that would impose the death penalty for women and doctors who perform the procedure.

According to the Texas Tribune, the proposed bill would not include exceptions for rape or incest, but does exclude ectopic pregnancies that seriously threaten the life of the woman.

Slaton told the tribune: “It is time for Texas to protect the natural right to life for the tiniest and most innocent Texans, and this bill does just that, It’s time Republicans make it clear that we actually think abortion is murder. … Unborn children are dying at a faster rate in Texas than COVID patients, but Texas isn’t taking the abortion crisis seriously.”

Others Passionately Opposed This Bill In The Past

According to the Texas Tribune, this same bill was opposed by two republican lawmakers in the past.

Back in 2017 both representatives Tony Tinderholt and Jeff Leach received death threats, and had to seek protection from the Texas Department Of Safety based on "security concerns".

Simply Put, Abortion Procedures Should Be Up To Women, Not Male Lawmakers

First off, if I come across contradictory I understand.

I also completely understand the stance of abortion being murder and why people feel as strongly as they do about it.

I get it.

At the same time, irresponsible acts shouldn't be forgiven with abortion either.

And here's where I am personally on the side of the Republicans.

An irresponsible promiscuous woman, Democrat or Republican, sleeping with different men shouldn't be allowed to just get an abortion because she doesn't want to give birth, because she knew the consequences of having unprotected sex.

A woman who is no longer in a relationship with a man and decides she doesn't want to have the baby because the relationship is over shouldn't be allowed to get an abortion. Again, she knew the consequences.

But if your daughter was viciously raped by a stranger or, as if most often the case, a friend or family member and got pregnant, by law she has to give birth to the baby.

After that sort of violent trauma, you still want to give her the death penalty for making the decision to terminate the pregnancy?

If the woman doesn't want to carry out a pregnancy or give birth to a child who would be a constant reminder of the devastating trauma she experienced, why do you want to KILL HER?

It just doesn't make sense.

Here Are 10 Cool Central Texas AirBnB's You Should Check Out

If you are curious about what kind of Airbnb rentals this area has to offer take a few minutes of your time and check these out!

I was on Airbnb's website last week booking a place for relatives who are coming to visit and ran across a few really cool spots in Temple, Belton, Killeen, and Salado.

Wow! What I Saw When I Turned Left Inside Buc-ee's In Temple, Texas [PICS]

As the saying goes... everything's bigger in Texas.

Having said that, I've never seen a gas station with more than 50 gas pumps.

Then I visited Buc-ee's.

What is Buc-ee's?

If you don't know or have never visited the popular one-stop highway shop that has over 35 Texas locations in Texas, you need to!

You can get everything in Buc-ee's from gas, to keychains to candles to brisket to goat milk soap and everything in between.

Buc-ee's Has Expanded

According to their site, Buc-ee's, not only has multiple locations here in Texas, they have expanded to southern states like Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

The World's Largest Buc-ee's Coming Soon

Later this year, Buc-ee's has plans to open "The World's Largest Buc-ee's" located in Sevierville, Tennesse. It will have 120 fuel pumps, a 250-foot car wash, and 74,000 square feet of indoor shopping.
Yikes!

I've Never Turned Left

In almost 7 years, I've been here in Texas, I've never turned left when I went inside a Buc-ee's.

I either walk straight to the bathroom or turn right to get water or gummy bears or chocolate almonds. (I get the same thing every time)

But yesterday, I decided to turn left and (I know I'm late) I was mesmerized!

For starters, I never had a reason to turn left.

I've visited the one in Waller County, Bastrop, and the Temple location.

Every time I've visited Buc-ee's, I've never had a reason to go "shopping" always a bathroom break and then back on the road.

So here are some of the cool things I saw when I turned left at Buc-ee's in Temple, Texas!

Here's An Astonishing Look At Downtown Chicago For Texans Who Want To Visit

Last week Chicago celebrated its 185th birthday!
Chicago is the nation's third-largest market according to the 2020 Census with a population of over 2.7 million people.

Chicago Has A Negative Stereotype

Let's face it, if you pay attention to the news, there is a negative image of Chicago put out by the media.
Of course, I lived in Chicago during President Obama's tenure in office and what made me chuckle every time I would watch the nightly news is reporters would compare the proximity of his house, to the ensuing violence, as if he had something to do with it.

For example:

"The shooting occurred just 8 blocks from President Obama's home"
What is highlighted is the violence that occurs in some of the neighborhoods and not the overall city.
Evey U.S. city has violence and killings, so I feel it's my duty to attempt to clean up the image of my hometown for those who may want to visit the nation's third-largest city.

Chicago Has Tons Of Tourists Attractions

Don't let what you read in newspapers and hear and see on TV cloud your image about the Windy City.
There are tons of things to do in Chicago specifically in the downtown area.
You have the Magnificent Mile known for its stores and shopping, thousands of people including tourists frequent the area daily.
There's the infamous Chicago Bean (I still don't know the purpose of that thing), but tourists love it!
There are amazing views along Chicago's lakefront and I think it's one of the few cities that has a beach with sand in its downtown area.
Let's take a look at some things to do in downtown Chicago, should you decide to visit at some point this year.
