Amber Alert Issued for Texas Teen
UPDATE 7PM: The Amber Alert for 13-year-old Wendy Hernandez-Orantes has been lifted. KWTX-TV reports that the girl was found in a Houston apartment complex and is safe. Three people were reportedly detained. Police have not released their names.
An Amber Alert has been issued for a girl last seen early Monday morning in Katy, TX, and her family worries the teen may have been abducted by a gang.
13-year-old Wendy Hernandez-Orantes was last seen walking toward a bus stop at 2013 North Fry Road in Katy at 6:25 AM Monday.
Wendy is Hispanic girl weighing around 100 pounds and standing at 4'10". She has brown eyes and black hair, and was last seen wearing beige pants, a gray blouse with a white square pattern print, and black-and-pink tennis shoes.
According to KHOU-TV, the teen's mother believes she may have been abducted by a 20-year-old Hispanic man named Jose Enrique Ramos Rivera, who also goes by the name Enrique Mejia.
According to Wendy's mother, the man is a member of a gang from El Salvador that kidnapped the girl once before, abused the girl, then returned her to her family on the condition that they not tell police.
