The Associated Press reports that Austin authorities have brought a man into custody who allegedly emailed sponsors about a bomb threat that caused a show to get canceled at the South by Southwest Music Festival.

The 26 year old male was brought in on charges of making a terroristic threat.

City officials of Austin said in a news release on Sunday that the man arrested was Trevor Weldon Ingram. If convicted, Ingram could potentially serve up to ten years in prison.

Austin police say the threat was received Saturday afternoon for The Roots performance that was scheduled to take place that evening. Authorities investigated the site, but didn't find anything suspicious.

Sponsors still decided to be on the safe side and canceled the performance. With the recent package bomb explosions that have taken place in Austin this month leading to two deaths, and two wounded people in other locations, safety is of the utmost importance to the sponsors here in the area.
