Blue Bell Ice Cream Licker Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail

I don't know about you, but I feel like 2020's already been a long year only a couple of months in. With everyone freaking out about politics and the coronavirus, it's just felt like a drag. Maybe that's why it feels like forever ago that Blue Bell licking was a trend that disgusted and infuriated the nation.

One person who certainly doesn't need a reminder is D'Adrien L'Quinn Anderson of Port Arthur.

Back in August, Anderson was filmed taking the lid off a gallon of Blue Bell, licking it, poking it with his finger, then putting it back in a Walmart store freezer.

Anderson went back and bought the ice cream, and even showed police a receipt. However, by the time he was identified and located, video of the stunt had gone viral and Walmart had to trash every tub in that freezer due to public health concerns. Blue Bell spent $1,565 replacing it.

Now Anderson is serving time in jail after pleading guilty of criminal mischief.

KFDM-TV reports that he was sentenced in Jefferson County Wednesday, March 4. He was given a 180 day jail sentence, but will only serve 30 as a condition of probation. He'll also have to pay a $1,000 fine, and the judge ordered him to pay $1,565 in restitution to Blue Bell.

In the video above, Anderson told a reporter the stunt wasn't his first attempt to go viral, and that he once "made WorldStar" for running onto the court during an NBA game. He bragged about trolling all of Southeast Texas and didn't expect to face any charges.

Looks like the joke's on you now, D'Adrien. Don't mess with Texas or her favorite ice cream. When you get out, find more creative ways to go viral.
