Memorial Day Weekend is coming up and Cameron Park Zoo is offering free admission to veterans and active duty military.

Memorial Day weekend is upon us and for most it signals the end of school and the start to summer. Let's not forget what Memorial Day is all about. It's a day to remember all the military service men and women who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.

Memorial Day is also a day when we honor all veteran and military members with freebies, as a way to say thank you for your service. From free food, to buy one get one deals to shopping deals for everybody, The Memorial Day three day weekend is a great time for everyone to relax, unwind and do some traveling. It's also a great time to see some of the local attractions as most are offering some kind of Memorial Day specials.

KCEN reports that Cameron Park Zoo in Waco is offering free admission to all veterans and active duty military on Memorial Day. You'll just need your military ID to get in for free. In addition, family members will only be charged military admission rates.

According to the news release, "The staff of Cameron Park Zoo wishes to thank the military for their service."

The zoo will be open on Memorial Day from 9-5pm.

Cameron Park Zoo is located at 1701 North 4th Street in Waco.

Adults(13+) – $12.50
Children 3-12 yrs – $9.50
Sr. Citizens (60+) – $11.50
Children 2 yrs old and under – Free
