Central Texas Doctor Suspended by State Medical Board
Glad to see that the folks at Baylor Scott & White follow the rule, "If you see something, say something."
KWTX is reporting that a doctor, based in Belton, and working at Baylor Scott & White had his medical license suspended on Friday.
Friday the TMB announced that the license of Terry C. Lairmore was suspended the day before because..."his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately. The panel found that Dr. Lairmore has potentially participated in patient care while under the influence of controlled substances, and based on his termination by a licensed health care entity, the evidence shows Dr. Lairmore may pose a threat to patient safety.”
It seems that back in November Dr. Lairmore was observed acting oddly during a surgery. People reported the incident, which facilitated an investigation. He later refused to take a drug screen because the result would reveal evidence of substances.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
