Central Texas SpaceX Expansion Will Help Build City on Mars
Tech titan Elon Musk has plans to establish a city on Mars, and he'll use one Central Texas city to help do it.
According to tweets by Elon Musk, the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX, expansion will take place at the company's site in McGregor for the production of more rocket engines.

"We are breaking ground soon on a second Raptor factory at SpaceX Texas test site,” Musk said in a tweet. "This will focus on volume production of Raptor 2, while California factory will make Raptor Vacuum & new, experimental designs."
One twitter user asked," Is the plan still to have an engine factory at Starbase, or has that changed now that there will be one in McGregor?" To which Elon Musk responded with:
Elon Musk has a huge feat ahead of him to create a city on Mars, but expanding SpaceX in Texas will definitely be a huge help.
Musk is aiming to produce hundreds of raptor engines, “roughly 800 to 1000 per year.” Musk wrote, "That’s about what’s needed over ten years to create the fleet to build a self-sustaining city on Mars. City itself probably takes roughly 20 years, so hopefully it is built by ~2050."
2050, y'all! With the help of Central Texas, there could be a complete city on Mars by 2050! Now would probably be a good time to invest in space engineering. Plus, how awesome will it be to know that Texas helped paved the path to a city on Mars?
