DogFest Texas is coming up on October 2, and it's a great way to raise some much needed funds for Canine Companions.

Canine Campions Does Great Work

Canine Companions started in 1975 with the mission to provide service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities at no cost. They also train and provide dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and more.

They Could Use Our Help

The service they provide is free, so in order to raise money to cover the costs of their programs, they work with fundraisers like DogFest.

Do Some Exploring

DogFest Texas ends at 1 PM so you'll have time to visit some other dog friendly places in Austin like Red Bud Isle Dog Park, or eat at some of the dog friendly restaurants on 2nd Street. This might be a perfect time to check out the Yard Bar, a combination dog-park, bar and restaurant for you and your furry best friend.

October 2 is still a couple of weeks away, so you have plenty of time to plan your day.
