Former Temple Mayor JW Perry Passes Away at 84

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for former Temple mayor JW Perry.

A service will be held Monday, March 23 at First United Methodist Church in Temple beginning at 11:00 a.m. Perry passed away Thursday at age 83, and a visitation was held Sunday.

Perry is survived by his wife, Ruth Perry, as well as his daughter, Paula Thompson, son-in-law, Rick Thompson, and grandchildren, Michael and Megan Thompson.

Perry served as mayor for three terms from 1992 to 1998. He was born in Navarro County and served in the Navy from from 1950 to 1952. After moving to temple in 1962, he opened Perry Office Products, which he owned and operated until 1994.
