Four people are homeless after a fire destroyed their home in Temple Friday morning.

Temple Fire and Rescue was called to the home in the 1200 block of South 5th Street at 4:33 AM.

When they arrived, firefighters found all the occupants safely outside and observed heavy flames in the rear of the structure.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but the home received heavy structural damage and is considered a total loss. The scene was cleared by 9:11 AM.
