Garage Fire Displaces Family of Two in Temple
Temple firefighters responded to a reported house fire in southwest Temple Tuesday.
When fire crews arrived at the home in the 3900 Block of Loop Drive, they observed heavy smoke and flames out the side of a detached garage.
The interior of the garage received fire and smoke damage. The attic of the house received smoke damage. Dollar loss to the garage and contents is estimated at $30,000. Fire investigation determined the fire started in an enclosed closet in the garage. It has been ruled unintentional with the cause as undetermined. No one was home when the blaze occurred. The American Red Cross is working with the family of two to assist with their immediate needs. There were no injuries.
Temple Police, Temple EMS and Oncor Electric responded. The fire department responded with 9 units and 22 personnel. The call was dispatched at 12:39 p.m. and the first unit arrived at 12:46 p.m. The last unit cleared the scene at 3:09 p.m.
