Senior running back Elijah Hudson's dominating performance gave the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor a 31-13 season opening victory over University of the Redlands on Saturday night in California. The win gave UMHB its 35th consecutive regular season game victory and 18th straight regular season road victory.

Hudson ran for 184 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries along with 60 yards receiving on 3 catches to lead the Cru. UMHB senior quarterback Jake Sims threw for 209 yards in his first collegiate start completing 18 passes on 26 attempts. UMHB posted 395 rushing yards and rolled up 604 total yards of offense in the game. Baylor Mullins intercepted two passes and Teidrick Smith had 11 tackles to lead the Cru defense. The Cru also held Redlands to 35 rushing yards and 308 yards of total offense, posting five sacks and intercepted three passes in the win.

UMHB now travels to face Kean University in a 12:00 PM kickoff next Saturday, the game will be broadcast on Townsquare Media's K101-7 FM or online at K1017fm.com beginning at 11:30 AM.
