Junior Leaguer Flips Over Wall Making World’s Greatest Catch
Youth has been served.
Jack Regenye, an outfielder from Pennsylvania playing in the Junior League World Series, made one of the most gorgeous and athletic catches you'll ever see on Sunday when he flipped over the wall while robbing a player from Chinese Taipei of a home run.
The play occurred in the fourth inning with Regenye's Kennett Square team trailing 5-1.
The catch was not without some debate, though. Chinese Taipei's manager argued the call, which the umpired then ruled was a home run. The men in blue then talked about it further before deciding it was a catch.
In the end, the catch could only do so much for Kennett Square, which got walloped, 12-1.
Regenye's catch calls to mind a similar play by the Detroit Tigers' Austin Jackson, who landed in the bullpen while robbing the Red Sox Hanley Ramirez of a jack earlier this month.
It also reminds us that young players can be responsible for some amazing plays. Don't believe it? Then maybe you need to get a look at this monster home run hit by a boy in Little League.
