The Killeen Animal Shelter is hoping to get more animals adopted by extending their hours.

According to a press release from the city of Killeen, the animal shelter will debut new hours starting on February 17th. The new hours will give people more time to come visit the shelter and adds 17 more hours of adoption time.

The new hours will be Monday through Saturday, 9 AM-4PM. Sundays, the shelter will be opened 11 AM to 4 PM.

To adopt a fur-ever friend, you must present a government issued ID card or a water bill. You do not have to be a resident of Killeen to adopt.

All adoptions require a $55 adoption fee and a $15 micro-chipping fee. You can click here to view animals that are currently up for adoption, as well as lost & found pets.

You must visit the Killeen animal shelter, located at 3118 Commerce Dr., to adopt an animal. Adoption at the shelter is handled at first come, first serve basis.
