Killeen Parents Accused of Abducting Their Own Children Booked Into Bell County Jail
Jeffrey and Maria Gilseth have been returned to Bell County after being arrested in Topeka, Kansas on February 27. The couple is accused of abducting their children, of whom they do not have legal custody, during a supervised visit on February 21.
You may remember about two weeks ago they were both arrested off interstate 70 in Topeka, Kansas after authorities pinned their car in a toll plaza. A day before, Jeffrey Gilseth contacted the media (including our news partners at KWTX-TV) and said he and his wife took the children because he figured they would be put up for adoption, and he and his wife were concerned for the well-being while the children were being placed in Child Protective Services.
Bell County Jail records indicate Jeffrey Gilseth was booked on March 11 at 2:08 PM and charged with unlawful restraint and interference with child custody. His bond was set at $125,000. Maria was booked at 2:13 PM and charged with interference with child custody. Her bond was set at $100,000.
Both remained in BCJ custody Tuesday afternoon.
