UPDATE, 8-22-16, 7:26 AM: Mr. Parrish was found safe in a Fort Hood housing area, according to a KPD news release issued Monday morning. Police did not say exactly when he was found, but said he was well and thanked everyone for their help locating him.


 

Killeen police are searching for an elderly man believed to have wandered from home and forgotten how to get back.

According to a KPD news release, 74-year-old Herman Ray Parrish was last seen by his wife at 2 AM Sunday in the 200 block of Cloud Street. Mrs. Parrish said her husband announced he was going to bed at that time. When she woke at 8:30 AM, her husband was gone.

Mrs. Parrish told police she believes her husband has been showing signs of Alzheimer’s, though he’s not been diagnosed with the condition. She believes he walked away from their home and cannot remember how to get back.

Parrish is a bald, white man, and was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan pants. Police say he is not on any medications and walks without assistance.

Anyone who sees Mr. Parrish is urged to call the Killeen Police Department at at 254-501-8800.
