If there's one thing I hate more than road construction, it's road construction I had no idea was happening.

The Killeen Daily Herald reports that some road closures are happening next week in areas of Killeen, so in an effort to keep you well informed, I'm passing along the info.

According to a news release form the City of Killeen, crews will be working on water infrastructure improvements, installing a new water main, starting Monday, November 9 through the 13th in three different locations that will result in road closures. So if you live or commute through these area, here's a heads up.

  • Coffield Street, from Rancier Avenue to Evetts Road
  • Evetts Road, from Coffield Street to Rocky Lane
  • Rocky Lane, from Rancier Avenue to Evetts Road

The roads will not shut down completely as one lane will remain open during working hours of 7a-5p. Detours will be in place so it's important to pay extra attention to road signs in these areas.

The work is being done in conjunction with the Waterline Rehab Phase 3 project. According to the news release, crews are replacing  3 and a half miles of water lines and associated fire hydrants.

The City of Killeen apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of this work and appreciates the public’s cooperation.
