Killeen-Temple Area Ranks in Texas Top 15 List For Highest Average Bills
Things are pretty great here in the Killeen-Temple, Texas area, but when you compare the average monthly price of bills to surrounding areas, you might think twice.
According to a recent study by online payment company Doxo, paying bills in Central Texas can be a lot more expensive than in other Texas cities.
Cue Destiny's Child 90's smash hit Bills, Bills, Bills because WHEW I need someone to help pay these things.
Location, Location, Location
As expected, the more sought after area you live in, the costs are likely to be higher.
However, the most expensive area for monthly bills did surprise me. The Doxo study places the average price for monthly bills in Texas at $1,888, and the city that ranks number one passes that by approximately $400.
Before I continue, let me explain that sometimes I view this area as Central Texas, and other times I don't. I know that I'm not alone in this thought process, because it seems as though the debate has been happening since the beginning of time.
Drum-roll Please....
The most expensive area for monthly bills in Texas is none other than the Austin, Round Rock, and Georgetown area, with monthly bills totaling $2,300. I was absolutely certain that Dallas would take home the number one spot, but crazily enough, they didn't even rank as second.
Coming in at number two is actually Brenham, home of the best ice cream on the planet (AKA Blue Bell), with average monthly bills totaling $2,182. I guess that's the price you pay for living in ice cream paradise.
Continuing on down the list is the Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington area at number 3, with average bills costing $2,103.
The Houston, the Woodlands, and Sugarland area take spot number 4, paying $2,080 on average monthly bills. Rounding out the top 5 is Midland, where on average they spend $2,037 monthly on bills.
Killeen-Temple
While Killeen-Temple didn't make the top 5, we still rank within the top 15 list of most expensive areas.
$1,759 is the monthly average costs of bills in Killeen-Temple. While that's more expensive than 55 other cities ranked, its still less than the state's average by approximately $129.
Things could be worse, but things could be better too.
