Killeen, Texas, Let’s Get Real For The New Year And Set Realistic Goals
2021 is coming to an end here in Killeen, Texas, and that means we're going to be putting a lot of pressure on ourselves. But should we?
Every year people wait until the end of the year to make a decision about their New Year’s resolutions, and a lot of times even though they set certain goals they are unrealistic.
I can even say that I’ve set goals knowing that I would not be able to achieve them.
Setting unrealistic goals set you up for failure for the remainder of the year in my opinion. If you start your year off with making goals that are realistic and don’t put so much strain and expectations into your lifestyle, it is a possibility that you can accomplish these particular missions.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022!
HEALTH IS WEALTH!
For example, the first thing we noticed at the beginning of the year is that the gyms are completely full, and usually moving towards mid-February they become less so due to the fact that people have already fallen off the wagon.
What I would suggest for you to continue working on your health would be something simple, like instead of thinking about going to the gym every day, be a little versatile and maybe take your four-legged furry babies on a walk, or you can go out dancing with friends to burn calories.
Make it a goal to just be more active and get our more in general, then go from there.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!
Another step that can be helpful is not to try to put yourself on a strict diet right away.
When I go on a strict diet, the first time I hop off the wagon ends up being my last time eating clean. I’m right back to eating fried foods and pasta the minute I fail, so I've learned to just incorporate little things that can help you on the healthy path.
For instance, if you decide to get a burger, maybe get a veggie burger, and instead of fries, you can substitute that out for a side salad or maybe even sweet potato fries. Also, try branching out from your usual eats and try new places with foods you may have never considered.
SELF-LOVE IS EVERYTHING!
Last but not least, when working on setting goals in regards to your New Year’s resolution, keep in mind that we are human and we’re going to make mistakes.
It’s okay to lose, but it’s not okay to give up!
I hope everyone has an amazing new year and that you’re able to stick with whatever goal you choose! I have made goals this year myself, and I also made sure to be realistic as well.
Happy new year, Central Texas!
