Some Killeen residents are calling for the resignation of Precinct 4, Place 1 Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters due to allegations of missing money.

According to a petition that was filed by Anothony Kendrick in small claims court on August 29th, Peters is accused of "theft by deception". Kendrick says Peters took $2,300 from K-Town Raptors. The money was given to Peters in the form of cash to be used as payments for referees during a jamboree event dating back to last year. Kendrick says with the money being stolen from children, he felt obligated to expose the alleged theft.

In addition to the allegations, Kendrick is asking for Peters to step down as Justice of the Peace and his position with the Killeen football organization. Peters sent Kendrick a text saying "file your paperwork in court" according to a story by Brandon Hamilton with News 10.

Kendrick told News 10 that Peters was once considered a mentor and friend. He says Peters had told him the money had since been donated to a soup kitchen but Kendrick can not verify that story beyond his account.

When our partners at News 10 reached out to Peters for a comment he said he had been advised not to speak on the matter. Peters took over the JP spot in Precinct 4, Place 1 after Claudia Brown was sent packing from her post in February.
