A South Texas woman was recently arrested after video of her driving through an H-E-B parking lot with a child hanging from her vehicle went viral.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the Laredo police department arrested a woman due to the fact that a video posted to Facebook shows her driving through the H-E-B parking lot in the 1300 block of Guadalupe Street with her child standing on the running board of her SUV. The incident happened back on February 26th.

Police released the video to the media to help identify the person behind the wheel.  An anonymous tip helped identify who the woman was.

Laredo police charged Jessica Lizette Villarreal with child endangerment. Webb County Jail records indicated she was booked on April 28 and released on $30,000 bond on April 29. If convicted, she could get up to two years in jail and a $10,000 fine.  The district attorney approved the arrest warrant.

According to KGNS-TV, police say Villarreal admitted that her child, who's under the age of 10, was misbehaving and refusing to get into the car.

Yes, kids can misbehave sometimes, but I wouldn't advise driving off in your vehicle while they are standing on the running board. Obviously your kid could lose their grip or let go at any moment and be seriously hurt or worse.
