Round Rock Girls Found Safe in Colorado, Suspect Arrested
Two girls missing from Round Rock have been found in Colorado, and the man accused of abducting them and suspected of being involved in the death of their mother is in custody.
KWTX reports that Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith, 14, and Luluvioletta Mariposa Bandera-Magret, 7, were safely recovered in Trinidad, Colorado Wednesday evening. Their accused abductor, Terry Allen Miles, 44, is in police custody.
A Las Animas County Deputy reportedly spotted Miles' car and recognized it from an Amber Alert.
Police say Miles was the roommate of the girls' mother, Tonya Bates. Bates was found dead inside her home in the 2600 block of Leslie Court in Round Rock on December 30.
Shortly after her discovery, an Amber Alert was issued for her girls. Authorities, believing Miles intended to leave the state with the girls, discontinued the Amber Alert in Texas on Wednesday, January 3 and issued one in Colorado, which resulted in the safe recovery of the girls and Miles' arrest.
