It's no secret to those of us living here that Central Texas is in a major boom period right now, but the latest census data confirms it.
Great Weather, Cost Of Living Is Affordable
According to the census, and a report done by inspectionsupport.com, the Killeen -Temple metro area added over 35,000 residents in the past five years.
That represents an increase of over 8% to the total population.
What this means is that Killeen -Temple is the 14th fastest growing midsize metro in the United States!

When The West Was Won
According to the 2020 census and a report by inspectionsupport.com, the West Coast now has more people than both the Midwest and northeast.
If you do the numbers of the U.S. population, 38% of the American public resides in the South, 23% reside in the West, 20% are in the Midwest, and 17% live in the Northeast.
Why The Killeen- Temple Area?
The reasons for people moving here seem pretty obvious - great weather, affordable cost of living, and the fact that Austin has become a hub for tech jobs, which brings more people to the area. These are the main reasons this area is so ideal.

Between 2015 and 2020, the percent of the population went up by 8% in the Killeen Temple Area, compared to the U.S. population only rising 2.7%.
Over 35,000 new people moved to this area in the past 5 years (I am one of them!), compared to the U.S. population rising by a little over 8 million people.
Rockin' in Round Rock
The report also shows that Round Rock is the most common landing spot for recent movers. Considering how insanely expensive actually living in Austin is, that's no surprise.
