Love at 1st Billboard? New Texan Looking for Relationship in Austin via Sign
It's tough out there in the dating world these days. Just ask anyone who is single!
Jim Bays, a freshly minted Texan from the east coast, is trying a new way to meet potential dates. After being married and divorced twice, he thought a different approach might help him meet a soul mate after moving to Texas. He says dating apps didn't work for him, so he wanted to try something that would bring the dates to him without 'swiping'.
Bays says at the age of 66, he really didn't expect to be dating again after his second marriage, which almost lasted 20 years. Between his two ex-wives, he has five children, the youngest of which is 12.
So yes, he does have some baggage, but don't most people over the age of 65?
According to the United States Census Bureau, at least 9 in 10 adults ages 60 or older have been married. At least half of adults who married in the 1970s reached their 25th anniversary while in that relationship.
Bays is a spec builder and contractor by trade. He likes to run, work out at the gym, and is very active. He wants someone who can 'be encouraging and understands mistakes'.
So far, the billboard has resulted in half a dozen dates for Bays. Now he's just trying to find that special someone that will have 'perfect chemistry' with him.
Bays says along with the dates, he’s received roughly two dozen voicemails from ladies interested in getting to know him better. If you think Bays might be the one for you, reach out to (512) 763-6187.
By the way, it may be tough to get through to him. We tried calling the number on the billboard, only to be told the voicemail is full. Good luck and happy dating!
