No Conservative Commencement Speakers? No Surprise There.

I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 5/31/13

Did I really hear Bill O’Reilly say that out of the top 100 colleges,
only four invited commencement speakers considered to be
conservatives. Don’t doubt it. Our colleges and universities are
bastions of liberalism, and having, say, Bill O’Reilly speak, or Sarah
Palin, and you know what would happen? Students would mount
protests. Liberal college professors would instigate boycotts.
College presidents and regents don’t want that. They’d rather have
Oprah or Steven Colbert. Or, even better, if they can get Michelle
Obama, they’ve got it all – a woman, a minority, a first lady, AND a
liberal. Presumably some of the students and parents are
conservative. Maybe one or two professors out a hundred are too. Why
don’t THEY protest? The fact that there’s NO diversity of thought on
campus is just taken as a given. And commencement addresses are
usually forgotten as soon as they’re done.
