Off-Duty Central Texas Officer Rescues Children from Flames
KWTX's Chelsea Edwards reported that an off-duty Copperas Cove police officer rescued children from a fire on Sunday night.
Killeen authorities said the officer called the fire in around 8:40 p.m., and ran into save children from the flames of the burning home on Greenwood Avenue.
Authorities reported the children were at home by themselves at the time of the fire, but the parents were found later.
Fire teams on the scene told KWTX that there is definite fire damage, but they are unsure if the residence is a complete loss.
The scene was still active, and should be cleared out around 10:00 p.m..
