Police: Teen Girl Found Dead in Robinson Likely Took Her Own Life

Police are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was found dead at a construction site in Robinson Wednesday evening.

Our news partner, KWTX, reports that the girl was discovered behind a barn undergoing construction in the 700 block of East Stegall Dr. around 7:30 PM. She had a gunshot wound to the chest, which investigators say appears to have been self-inflicted.

First responders performed CPR before transporting her to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, where she was later pronounced dead.

The young woman's name has not been made public. She will undergo an autopsy as an investigation of the circumstances surrounding her death continues.
