Suspect In Fort Hood Shootings Waits Turn In Court

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — Prosecutors are close to resting their case against an Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people and wounding more than 30 others in a Fort Hood rampage.

Maj. Nidal Hasan might begin presenting his defense as soon as Tuesday. The big question is whether Hasan will testify on his own behalf. Hasan is acting as his own attorney.

The U.S.-born Muslim began the trial by telling jurors that he was the gunman who killed and wounded the others in the 2009 shooting rampage. He also has leaked documents during the trial that seek to justify the shooting as a defending his faith.
