Ten years time is a fragile thing. Decade is a heavy word, but those years are gone in the blink of an eye. Our busy lives steal them away. That's why it's important to stop on days like today and remember those who are no longer with us and how they were lost.

On November 5, 2009, 13 people were killed and 32 were injured when a madman opened fire in the Soldier Readiness Processing Center at Fort Hood.

By now, most of us remember his name and the radical ideology behind his terrorist attack. You can read more about it here, but I'm not interested in giving him a spotlight today.

This day should be about remembering and honoring those who lost their lives and those who continue to live with the wounds inflicted that day.
