Suspicious Device Found in Aftermath of Lampasas Fire
authorities gave an all clear on a house in Lampasas on Wednesday evening after discovering a suspicious device in the debris of a house fire.
KWTX reported that a construction worker discovered the suspicious object shortly before 6 PM while cleaning up debris left by the October 12 fire in the 800 block of West 1st Street. The man immediately reported the discovery to the Lampasas Police Department.
The construction worker told first responders the device he found looked like a homemade explosive device. Crews blocked off the street and notified neighbors of the situation.
Fort Hood's Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agency assisted authorities at the scene of the house fire. Fort Hood's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company and the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agency assisted in the investigation.
There's been no word on what the device actually was.
