Temple Woman Crashes Car While Fleeing From Police with Baby in Vehicle
A Temple woman was behind bars Monday after leading police in Temple and Troy on a car chase with an 18-month-old baby in the backseat.
Police attempted to stop Alexandra Armour, 18, in the area of East Houston and North 14th Street in Temple Sunday. Armour refused to stop and sped away, eventually passing into Troy.
Officers with the Troy Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety pursued Armour until she headed back to Temple along Bottoms East Road.
Police found the blue Audi A4 Armour was driving crashed on Lower Troy Road and East Young Ave before spotting Armour fleeing on foot toward the Blue Bonnet Mobile Home Park at 901 E. Young.
Police were able to catch up with her, and Armour was arrested. She was booked into the Bell County Jail at 5:35 PM Sunday.
An adult man and his 18-month-old child were also in the car. Police did not say if either passenger was injured.
The man told police Armour was his girlfriend, and that she fled because she had warrants out for her arrest. The man was briefly interviewed before being allowed to leave.
Armour had two warrants for marijuana possession. Police said Monday that charges of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Child Endangerment – both third degree felonies – are pending screening with the Bell County District Attorney's Office.
