The Temple mourns this week for the loss of a community leader and survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Keifer Marshall Jr. was a veteran of World War II, a former Temple mayor, and a beloved businessman. The Temple Daily Telegram reported Monday that Marshall Jr. passed away Sunday at the age of 91. According to the Telegram, services are pending with Temple's Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.

In the video below, posted by the Temple Chamber of Commerce in 2014, Marshall Jr. spoke of the Chamber's history with Fort Hood, as well as his thoughts on Iwo Jima.
