Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Thomas Nipper Laid to Rest in Belton Friday
Senior Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Thomas Nipper was laid to rest at North Belton Cemetery Friday, almost a week after having been fatally injured while conducting a traffic stop.
63-year-old Nipper, a resident of Morgan's Point, stopped a car on southbound I-35 near the 6600 block of South General Bruce Drive shortly before 3 PM on Saturday, November 4. A short time later, a pickup truck struck Nipper's patrol car from behind.
A procession for Nipper began in Temple Friday and made its way to North Belton Cemetery, where Nipper was given an honorable police funeral.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the men and women of law enforcement, as well as our military, for putting their lives on the line each day to keep us safe, and express our condolences to Officer Nipper's family, friends, and fellow officers.
