If you plan to get outdoors this summer and enjoy all that natural beauty Texas has to offer, taking plenty of selfies could win you statewide bragging rights.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine's Great Outdoor Scavenger Hunt (GOSH) returns for year two as a way to encourage folks to explore this great state in which we live and share their joy and experiences with others, encouraging them to get out there too.

The scavenger hunt is officially on now, and ends on Labor Day, September 6.

Here's how it works.

Register here, then pack up your cooler, swimsuit, hiking boots, fishing rods, and other outdoor supplies and head to special locations regionally or statewide.

Once you're there and find a gorgeous place to take a selfie, either solo or with your family and friends, snap a pic and post that beauty to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #GOSH2021.

There are a total of 30 locations that've been divided up across 6 regions: Dallas, Central Texas, Houston, the Panhandle, South Texas, and West Texas.

Full disclosure here: There's no big cash prize or showcase up for grabs. However, you will receive a certificate for finding all the locations in your region or across the Lone Star State, and you'll get a special shoutout in a future issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine. You can find all the rules and disclaimers here.

Personally, I love that Stonehenge II in Ingram and the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls are included in the Central Texas region. One is a quirky piece of Texas oddball history, and the other is a legendary eatery you don't really need an excuse to visit anyway.

Hey, if you're going to be out there taking in all the natural wonders and quirky hidden treasures Texas has to offer, you might as well make some memories and earn bragging rights!
