Toddler Found Wandering Temple Street, Mother Fails to Meet CPS
Centexproud.com is reporting a two-year-old child was found wandering the streets in Temple early Saturday morning and is now in CPS custody.
Child Protective Services officials say the mother of a 2-year-old found wandering in the street in Temple early Saturday morning never showed up to their offices to claim the child. The Temple Daily Telegram reports that police were called to the same area concerning a missing child shortly before 10 AM. The woman they met said she'd left the child alone with "three grown adults" around 1 AM while she went to a restaurant, then discovered the child was missing around 8 AM.
Police arranged for the woman to meet with CPS officials, but Temple PD spokesperson Shawana Neely told the Telegram the woman never showed up. She added that officers later discovered the woman had an outstanding warrant in Bell County.
