The Associated Press reported that authorities in northeast Texas said that a passenger train struck a dump truck that was sitting on the tracks on Saturday afternoon. The terrible incident killed the two people that were inside of the dump truck.

Emergency crews at the scene said, 11 people on the Trinity Railway Express were also injured in the crash Saturday afternoon and were taken to a nearby hospital. Two parents are in critical condition from the accident, and three other people have serious injuries that aren't life threatening.

The accident took place in Euless; which is about halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Dallas Morning News said, "The collision shattered some train windows and damaged the front of the train. Morgan Lyons, Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesmen said, "The accident should have been avoidable."

Investigators at this present time are not sure how fast the train was going, or the reasoning for the dump truck being stuck on the railroad tracks.
