Virtual Benefit Concert Supporting Cameron Park Zoo to Feature Brad Paisley

Here's a great opportunity to enjoy a virtual benefit concert and help Cameron Park Zoo at the same time.

FOX44 News reports that the All Together for Animals Virtual Benefit Concert will happen on Wednesday, March 31.

The benefit concert is hosted by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, with proceeds helping zoos and aquariums that have been hit hard from the pandemic.

The $30 ticket will give you access to see streamed performances from Riley Green, Wynonna Judd, Old Dominion and Brad Paisley as the headliner.  Cody Allen from Country Music Television will host the one hour event that was pre-recorded at the Nashville Zoo and Steel Mill Studios.

Duane McGregor, Marketing and Public Relations Manger for Cameron Park Zoo, tells FOX 44 that out of the $30 ticket price, the zoo receives half, and folks are welcome to donate more to benefit the zoo throughout the event.

The funds raised will help zoos and aquariums feed, care for, and provide medical attention for the animals that need it.

McGregor says it's been it's tough times for zoos trying to feed and properly care for their animals. He also warned against sharing the event link with anyone once you've paid for admission, because if they click it before you do, "you are out of luck". Do the right thing.

By the way, here's some positive zoo news. Curator Kevin Hodge with the Houston Zoo recently did an interview with NPR in which he talked a baby boom happening at his zoo. Sure that'll mean more mouths to feed, but c'mon. That's pretty cool.
