Waco Police Investigating Viral Video Showing Vicious Assault
Waco police say they are aware of a disturbing video that appears to have been filmed in the city, and they are investigating.
The Waco Police Department posted the status below to Facebook on Monday, April 1:
The video apparently started out as a prank, with a woman pretending to break up with her boyfriend. However, the man reacts violently, throwing punches and viciously beating the woman.
While it's possible that the video itself is entirely a prank, many find its circulation online and some reactions to it disgusting and disrespectful to domestic abuse victims. Police aren't taking any chances, and investigating the possibility that the video is not a fake.
I've chosen not to embed the video in this article. I don't find it all funny, and the content isn't suitable for a work environment.
For the sake of public information, I will link to the news piece in which I originally saw it, but I'll warn the reader once again: the video depicts domestic violence, and could trigger victims or those with anxiety issues.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, please reach out for help.
