A man wanted for robbing pharmacies has passed away after he was hit by three cars and severely injured earlier this month on Highway 190.

According to KWTX-TV, 44-year-old Darrel Glen Kees died early Thursday morning at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Police say Kees was seen staggering along 190 near Trimmier Road around 11:15 PM on March 16. While fleeing from officers, he ran into westbound traffic and was hit by a truck and two cars. One of the cars did not stop.

KWKT-TV reported that Kees was wanted for at least two pharmacy robberies in which he demanded Hydrocodone. During the second robbery, which took place at a Wallgreen's in Bryan, Kees reportedly sprayed a technician with a Raid bottle.
