Yeehaw! The PBR World Finals Are Moving From Las Vegas to Fort Worth
One of rodeo's biggest events is moving from Sin City to the Lone Star State.
Everyone's Moving to Texas These Days
Professional Bull Riders (PBR) made the huge announcement Tuesday.
The PBR World Finals will be moving from Las Vegas, Nevada to Fort Worth, Texas beginning in 2022.
This move comes as the Stockyards Heritage Development Co. and ASM Global are wooing more sports, music, and entertainment events to Texas with everything our state has to offer.
It Makes Perfect Sense
Plus, c'mon - doesn't it just make sense for one of the largest rodeo events in the world to go down in the Lone Star State? It's just a natural fit.
Governor Greg Abbott agrees. He told the PBR, "Fort Worth is the Modern West, and there is no better place for the PBR World Finals to call their new long-term home," and congratulated everyone involved on a "world champion partnership that will showcase Texas as the premier sports-entertainment destination, spur continuing tourism and travel, and bring new jobs to Fort Worth and beyond."
Two Weeks of Rodeo Action
The inaugural PBR World Finals in Fort Worth are scheduled for May 12-22, 2022 at Dickies Arena with two weekends packed full of awesome events.
They'll hold the first three rounds of finals May 13-15 and the final five from May 19-22.
They also plan to bring World Finals-related events, including concerts, to Cowtown Coliseum, the Fort Worth Convention Center, and the Will Rogers Complex in Fort Worth. Plus, there'll be a 7,000-square-foot PBR Bar at Texas Live! for anyone looking to really part it up and get the VIP experience.
Yeehaw!
This is exciting news for Texas, both culturally and economically. It's just another sign that we're becoming the destination for major events as more and more people realize how good we have it down here and how business-friendly we are.
