The Temple College Lady Leopards made history this past weekend!

KWTX reports that the Lady Leopards softball team capped off a dream of a season and hoisted the National Championship trophy this weekend.

The Lady Leopards used a five run fifth inning to secure a win in a winner-take-all game against Chipola at the NJCAA Division 1 World Series.

Coming into the contests with Chipola; the Leopards had won four consecutive games in the World Series.

Chipola beat Temple College in their fifth game by a score of 2-0; which led to the winner-take-all game. Temple College won that winner-take-all game by a score of 6-1.

The 2018 NJCAA Division 1 National Championship was the first national championship for the Temple College softball program.
