A School Bus and Dump Truck Collided on an I-35 Access Road Monday
The collision occurred around 4 p.m. near mile marker 318 on an I-35 access road. The driver of the dump truck reportedly crossed the center line of the access road and into the path of the bus while hauling rock away from a construction site. The aide was thrown through the windshield of the bus and the driver was trapped inside. Both were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. The bus driver underwent surgery Monday evening, and the aide is said to have no broken bones but possibly a sprained wrist.
60 students were aboard the bus at the time of the collision. Six were taken to the hospital for treatment and 15 reported minor injuries.
