Bell County will host between 90 and 120 inmates of Kerr County Jail after the Bell County Commissioner's Court unanimously approved a deal Monday morning.

Jacob Sanchez with the Temple Daily Telegram reports that Kerr County will pay Bell $68 per day per inmate beginning August 14 for up to 120 days.

Kerr County's jail in Kerville, 195 miles southwest of Belton, is currently undergoing renovations.

According to the Telegram, portions of the new Bell County Jail are currently undergoing reconstruction, and some funds from the deal with Kerr County will pay for additional staff to monitor prisoners held in a reopened portion of the old jail in Downtown Belton.
