City of Killeen offering free Cyber Security Training
The month of October has been proclaimed National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
Because there are real digital threats out there and it's easy to share a little too much information online, Killeen Mayor Segarra is offering a free training session to the public to help people better understand the dangers.
2019's theme is Own IT, Secure IT, Protect IT, reminding the public that it's their responsibility to be a defenders of their digital profiles and personal information.
Adults will engage in a training session that's interactive and fun,detailing proactive steps they can take to thwart security threats like malware, phishing, identity theft, and more
The training is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th at the Killeen Community Center from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
The training is free, and participants are encouraged to register in advance. You can get signed up at this Eventbrite listing.
