For many Temple citizens (myself included), Friday is garbage day. If you get home Friday and notice that your garbage wasn't collected, the City of Temple wants you to know they're aware of the problem and they're working on it.

There's been an unspecified delay in pickup, but City officials say if you leave your bin out on the curbside, it will be emptied Saturday.

City of Temple Director of Communications Shannon Gowan issued the following media release Friday afternoon:

The City of Temple has temporarily experienced a delay in solid waste collection activities for Friday, August 31, 2018. Impacted services include both residential and commercial garbage and recycling collections.

Any waste not picked up on Friday, August 31, 2018 will be collected on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Residents and businesses are asked to leave containers at the curbside this evening for servicing on Saturday.

As a reminder, normal solid waste collections will occur on Monday, September 3rd according to the City’s normal collection schedule.
