Compass Bank in Marlin Robbed Tuesday Afternoon
UPDATE: Police were able to use surveillance footage to track the suspect's vehicle to a home in Lott, where 60-year-old Ronald James Bryant was taken into custody.
Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman said he was determined to catch the man behind the robbery of Marlin's BBVA Compass bank because, “You know when you put a gun in the face of a young lady at a bank we take that really seriously."
Couldn't agree more, Sheriff.
UPDATE: Our partners at News 10 report that a helicopter has been called in to assist in the suspect in this case, who is believed to be armed with a gun. Game wardens were also helping out.
A surveillance still of the suspect was released late Tuesday afternoon.
It's been about a week since someone robbed the BBVA Compass bank in Belton, and now police say the branch is Marlin was hit Tuesday afternoon.
KXXV-TV's Caroline Sustton reports that a man walked into the location at 504 Live Oak Street around 12:30 PM with a gun in hand and demanded money before fleeing on foot, the jumping on a yellow moped.
Marlin PD, the Falls and McLennan County Sheriff's Offices, and the FBI were on the case Tuesday afternoon.
We don't yet have a description of the suspect. Given the yellow moped detail, I like to imagine he's wearing a bee outfit and trying to raise funds for his super villain lair. Maybe I'm just antsy from not having seen Avengers: Endgame yet.
Anyway, you may remember that the Compass branch in Belton was robbed on Monday, April 22. Police are still searching for a person of interest in that case.
The cases don't seem to be related so far.
