Imagine being excited about a new home that you are about to move into, and the moment you walk in it's filled with smoke.

KWTX's Clint Webb reports that a man and woman in Waco were attempting to move in to their new home, and were greeted with big cloud of smoke when they opened the front door.

A Waco fire crew responded to the scene in the 4000 block of Colcord Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. They discovered that the fire began in the kitchen area of the home and were able to quickly extinguish it.

The kitchen and dining room were damaged pretty badly by smoke, and the rest of the residence received minor smoke damage.

The American Red Cross is assisting the move-ins, whose belongings remain in their rental truck. The cause of the fire is till being investigated.
