It really is a sad day in Copperas Cove, Texas because the locals of this great city are saying goodbye to one of the most beloved and delicious restaurants there.

Copperas Cove is a very small and very quaint town where everybody pretty much knows everybody. When locals heard that German Imbiss was closing this Saturday, April 16, they definitely not prepared to lose this amazing establishment.

I can remember being a little girl and getting dressed on a Saturday morning with my father and heading to German Imbiss to eat some of the best authentic German food in the city.

THIS IS NOT GOODBYE, IT'S SEE YOU LATER

This family-owned business has pictures of preparing traditional German dishes in a wood panel room with old World décor. You felt like family when you came into this establishment.

The German Imbiss is such a big part of the local character of Copperas Cove that when the Killeen Daily Herald first posted that German Imbiss may be closing, I had to call for myself to get the confirmation. An employee I spoke with said that yes, this Saturday will be the restaurant's last day in business.

I was just hoping maybe it was a misunderstanding, but the rumors are true.

Whenever I think of great schnitzels and some of the best liverwurst sandwiches I’ve ever had, I will think of German Imbiss.

From the bottom of my heart, this amazing establishment will definitely be missed. If you get a chance, make sure you tell German Imbiss one last time Danke und Tschuss.
