We all remember the tornadoes from Monday and all of the damage they caused (pictures below), but what got everyone's attention was that viral video of the red pickup truck that was blown around like a toy before miraculously landing on its wheels.

Now there's more information on the condition of the truck and the driver.

You may have seen the video and how the impact of the storm flipped the red pickup truck over multiple times, but the driver survived and was able to drive away with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to KXAN, Ruben Briones, who helped the driver of the red pickup truck, said the driver was from Manor, Texas, but left the truck in nearby Elgin and said the driver told him “it was scary.”

What Happened To The Truck?

According to KXAN, the windows are blown out, the side panels are dented and scraped, and the rearview mirrors are gone. That's intense, but when you watch the video, it's clear things could have been much worse.

The Driver Of The Truck

Earlier this week, Aaron Crim, a commander with the Elgin Police Department, says the driver escaped "with a scrape and some cuts on his left arm, and said that an off-duty EMT "wrapped the driver's arm in a bandage"

He also said “I asked if he (the driver) was okay, and he shook his head and didn’t really answer me now I understand why he had a blind stare. I’m sure he was scared to death."

It's a relief that the driver, 16-year-old Riley Leon survived and was able to drive away in one piece.

According to mysanantonio.com, Leon he was leaving a job interview at Whataburger when the storm began.

Great News For Riley Leon

Representatives from the Chevrolet corporation saw the video, like hundreds of thousands of other people, and decided to step up.

The automobile company partnered with Bruce Lowrie Chevy in Fort Worth and gave Leon a brand new 2022 Silverado 1500 LT All-Star Edition!

And it's red like the one Leon lost in the tornado.

Chevy is also donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross for tornado relief.

Megan Soule spokeswoman for Chevy said:

"We’re proud to see the Chevrolet Silverado demonstrate its true durability during the twists and turns of this tornado," Soule adds. "Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the storm."

Great news!

Texas has plenty of strange rules and regulations that you could technically be prosecuted for if you violate them, since they've never been amended. Some of these are only for specific cities and not state-wide, but all of them are pretty odd!

Let's take a look at 10 of the weirdest ones in the Lone Star State.
